Juanita (Lotts) Landes
Juanita (Lotts) Landes, wife of Edward (Danny) Landes, Jr., went to heaven on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at UVA Medical Center. she was 73.
She was born on November 10, 1948 to the late McDowell David and Clara Virginia (Withers) Lotts. Juanita was known by many names: “Toots,” “Gammie,” “Nita” but everyone knew her as a caregiver first and foremost. “Toots” loved watching basketball, especially UVA and the Golden State Warriors. She and Danny were together for 50 years and were wed on January 8, 1981. She was loved deeply and will never be forgotten.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sisters, Judy Wolfe, Brenda Sue Lotts, Betty Jo Allman and Mary “Ginny” Shaffer, two sisters-in-law, Mary Lotts and Sharon L. Roadcap (Tommy); her granddaughter, Ashley L. Knox (Donald); and great-granddaughter, Maci McGann. She is preceded in death by her brother, John David Lotts.
The family received friends on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 5:30-7:30pm at Henry Funeral Home. A funeral service was conducted on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:00am at Henry Funeral Home by Derek Almarode. Burial followed at Old Providence Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Donald Knox, Curtis White, Taz Miller, Colt Miller, Jimmy Ford and Philip Myrtle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church, 3204 Cold Springs Road, Greenville, VA 24440.
There is certainly a joyous celebration in the Lord’s house for one who has gone home.
